Support

When something has gone wrong. If you are merely wondering how the thing works — actions, subscriptions, several gardens, what the neighbour sees — the questions and answers are over here.

Write to us

magnus@bjelkerud.no

In Norwegian or English, whichever you prefer. A real person reads it.

Something is wrong. Who do I write to?

Magnus, who made it. There is no support department and no ticket number — magnus@bjelkerud.no reaches a person. Say which phone you have and what happened, and expect a reply within a day or two.

I have paid but nothing arrived.

Purchases are confirmed by the App Store first and credited a moment later, so give it a few seconds and reopen the paywall. If the balance still has not moved, write to us with the date of the purchase and we will put it right — the receipt is proof enough, and you will not be asked for more than that.

I reinstalled the app and my plants are gone.

Your garden lives on the device, not on our servers. Deleting the app deletes the garden with it. Your subscription and any credits do survive — tap Restore purchases in the paywall. To make sure it cannot happen again, put the garden on a second telephone: the twelve-character code in the garden settings keeps both in step, and a garden kept in two places survives a lost one.

I have read about something here that my app does not have.

Improvements arrive quietly, without a trip to the App Store, but they land on the next start rather than this one — so an app you have kept open in your pocket for a fortnight can be a fortnight behind. Scroll to the bottom of the settings and you will find which version you are running, when it arrived, and a button that looks for a newer one. Tap it, then close the app completely and open it again. If it still does not appear, check the App Store: a few of the larger changes need the real download rather than the quiet one.

How do I cancel a subscription?

In iOS Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Whatever you took out lives there — Gardener on hand, or Bronze, Silver or Gold if you subscribed before the plans were simplified. We cannot cancel one for you: Apple does not permit it, and it would not be right in any case. Actions you have bought outright are not a subscription and need no cancelling.

What do you know about me?

No account, no name, no email address. Photographs and questions pass through our server to Anthropic to be answered; we keep a count of how many actions your device has used so the allowance works, and briefly your IP address to stop abuse. Your rough location goes up for weather alerts, along with a notification token so the alerts can reach you when the app is closed. If you have shared the garden, a copy of it sits on our server too, thumbnails included. None of it is tied to a name, none of it is sold, and none of it advertises to you. The details are in the privacy policy.

Can I have my data deleted?

Delete the app and the garden goes with it. For what sits on our servers — a device identifier, a balance, your last known area, and any garden you have shared a link to — write to us and it is removed. There is not much of it.

My subscription is called Silver and the app says Gardener on hand.

It is the same subscription. There were three plans — Bronze, Silver and Gold — and they differed only in a number that almost nobody reached, which made choosing between them a decision with nothing to base it on. There is one plan now, and it has a name rather than a metal. If you are on Silver you are already on it and nothing has changed: same price, same sixty actions, same billing date. If you hold Bronze or Gold, those keep running exactly as they are for as long as you want them.
